Moore’s Law is slowing down!
Does that mean that the world is changing less fast?
Will we have a moment to stand still, relax and reorientate ourselves?
I am sorry, but I have to destroy this hope.
Moore’s Law - the doubling of the processor power every 18 months or so - has been around for decades. That is the main reason why we have today enough computer power in our pockets to win against the chess world champion. And that is why we have more information at our fingertips than Bill Clinton had as the president of the United States.
But due to physics, the law is slowing down.
So, why is there no hope?
It will be replaced. The next law will further accelerate developments. Quantum computing is around the corner and it will take things to a completely new level.
How do we deal with that speed?
One thing you should start doing if you are not doing it yet: Mediation …
It is no accident that the 21st lesson for the 21 century by Yuval Noah Harari in his amazing book is … Meditation.
Also, many of my Podcast guests confirmed the importance and relevance of meditation.
I have been meditating for two years every single day without a pause.
When you want to try out a great app: My choice is Insight Timer. Many meditations for free and of course also a paid plan if you want.
